Rachel Hollis is a motivational speaker for women, author of the New York Times best-selling book, Girl, Wash Your Face, and an international phenomenon. She recently announced via a Facebook Live video that she’s releasing her first ever product: The Start Today Journal.

In her announcement, Rachel said she created the journal to help facilitate a practice she does every day that has changed her life: Write down 10 dreams you have for your life.

“The Start Today Journal is the best tool to help you achieve your goals. For ninety days you will write down five things you’re grateful for, ten dreams you’re going to make happen, and the one goal you’re going to achieve first. We believe that with this daily practice you will be able to find success both personally and professionally.” – Rachel Hollis

Here’s an overview and review of the purpose of the Start Today Journal.

How To Use The Start Today Journal by Rachel Hollis

You can do this daily ritual in a simple spiral notebook (or the FREE printable pages I made for you… scroll up or down the page to snag them), but Rachel wanted to create something more intentional for herself and her community of amazing women. Here’s a video that explains what the journal will be and do:

The Introduction of the Start Today Journal is a short but powerful 11 pages of writing with a few additional pages for brainstorming and writing out your dreams. And it is powerful. I’ve read those pages over and over and over again to challenge myself.

It explains how to use it: Envision your future best self and ideal future life and write it down as if it has already happened. These can be huge dreams or reminders of who you want to be. Rachel’s examples are: “Girl, Wash Your Face has sold a million copies” (BIG dream) and “I am an exceptional mother” (reminder of who she wants to be).

Each page starts with a section for gratitude so you can write down 5 things you’re grateful for every day. Then come the 10 dreams, and you write those bad boys out every.single.day. Finally, transform those dreams into goals by pursuing only one at a time and breaking them down into actionable steps.

Start Today Journal Fun Facts and Hacks

  • The journals are released in small batch designs each season and for special holidays. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
  • Every single run since she launched the journals last year have completely sold out.
  • Some runs of the journal also launch with coordinating notebooks in the same design
  • Rachel wants everyone to “start today” with this practice, even if you can’t afford the journal or miss them before they’re sold out. She reads the opening introduction pages of the Start Today Journal in her RISE Podcast 72: “The Daily Practice That Changed My Life” and encourages you to use a simple notebook or blank sheet of paper if you don’t have the journal (be sure to grab your FREE printable Start Today Journal pages below).

That’s it for now – are you excited for the Start Today Journal? Have you already been using it for a while? What are your thoughts? Let’s chat in the comments section!

Make it a great day,
